Back from The Grind

Without a doubt, it has been a long week of work.  It's cold as hell outside and patients are constantly getting sick.  You may very well not be sick, but what about the old people?  What about the most vulnerable people in society?  Did you bother to stop thinking about yourself for once and think about someone else's needs?  I sure as hell didn't.  Like most things, it falls under the category of business.  My company pays me to see sick, old people.  I guess that's what the vast majority of the entire healthcare industry is about.  No, it's not easy.  I've seen the nurses work harder than I do.  They don't even have time to sit down and take a lunch break.  It's pretty bad out there.  I mean there isn't even a war or famine going on.  There's nothing in the environment causing people to get old or lose their health.  Sickness and disease affects individuals left and right like no tomorrow for no obvious reasons.  Lack of exercise?  Lack of nutrition?  Lack of mental stimulus?  What the hell is wrong with these people?  Maybe, it's just old age?  When we get old, we lose our health and slowly die off.  I guess that's just how it is.  It doesn't have anything to do if you're rich or poor.  No matter how much money you have, you can't bring it anywhere after you die.  You think pharmaceutical companies can save people from old age?  You think exercise and eating healthy is going to last forever?  You think meditation and reading books is going to keep you young until your heart gives way?  None of us wants to think about this.  We just want to live life to the fullest.  We are selfish human beings.

In terms of caring for others and real work experience, none of us seem to want to care unless we are getting paid for our time; which is why you should never forget about your interests.  Can you imagine how much more successful school systems would be if they focused more on a student's individual interests and career goals as opposed to enforcing minimum requirements just to get by for standardized testing?  No one cares about school grades and tests scores in the real world.  People are dying of a disease, and they need a cure.  They don't need to see your damn SAT from high school.  Do you have a vaccine or not?  I'm pretty sure they'll pay you a lot more for coming up with a cure/vaccine than scoring a perfect score on the LSAT's or whatever God awful exam they have kids take these days.  Welcome to the hell kids.  It's always about The Grind.  Very few of us will ever be able to think outside the box, discover new products/inventions, or reach our dreams.

People often have different interests that conflict with your personal goals that they will enforce.  If it isn't the school system then it's be some kind of other government system like law enforcement, the military, or even the Environmental Protection Agency.  Someone or some entity will always be after you for one reason or another.  So are we all doomed to live out miserable lives for the sake of The Grind?  Hey, you can always play the lottery or just not give a crap.  I don't want to care.  I just want to take my time off and not care.  Business this and business that.  Who the hell cares?  Mothers may instinctively care about people in the family.  Males ultimately don't give a crap unless money or sex is involved.  You have the right to not give a crap.  I know I don't want to care or at least keep caring to a minimal to avoid trouble.  Not caring is my ultimately solution to the vast majority of questions to life.  Just don't give a crap, and you'll be fine.

Thank you for reading!  I hope to get some relaxation and peace this weekend as I don't want to be bothered by hurling molten fiery boulders of fecal matter.
